MDS employees collect used vegetable oil
In the last week of October, during the MDS Sipat (Internal Week of Prevention of Work Accidents), an employee campaign collected used vegetable oil (cooking oil). They collected more than 30 liters of cooking oil. The oil was sent to refining companies of the southern region of Santa Catarina for recycling.
Each liter of oil released into a body of water contaminates 1 million liters of water. In addition, according to the biodieselBR.com website, cooking oil prevents the penetration of sunlight when it comes into contact with bodies of water, causing the death of aquatic fauna due to reduced water oxygenation.
